Fort Lee Federal Credit Union was proud to be part of the Southside Area Credit Unions’ annual benefit golf tournament in September. More than $14,000 was raised for charity. Credit Unions Care Foundation of Virginia was presented with $7,500 of the proceeds. This amount, along with donations from other credit unions in Virginia, and matching funds from the Foundation, contributed to a relief fund for Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. In total, the Credit Unions Care Foundation was able to present $57,000 to the Red Cross specifically for hurricane relief.
Virginia Credit Union PAC was also a beneficiary of the tournament, receiving $7,064. VACUPAC is a non-partisan voluntary organization that supports credit union initiatives through legislation.
Special thanks go to Premier Event Sponsor, CUNA Mutual Group, and supporting Gold Sponsor, P.W. Campbell. Each company has been a loyal sponsor, proudly participating for multiple years.
